You are what you think

You are what you think

“Nothing can harm you as much as your own thoughts unguarded.” – Gautama Buddha Have you ever spent time thinking about what you are thinking? With the power of the mind, the body can do literally anything. Creating negative neural pathways like ‘I can’t do this’, ‘there’s no point in trying’ early on, imprint the muddy path away from progress and learning. What we think creates our reality and the link between our thoughts, feelings, and behavior.

Stop for a minute and take a look at your thoughts. Are they positive and encouraging or negative and demotivating? Now try to redirect these thoughts.

The mind is such a powerful tool that can control us or we can use it to our advantage to achieve growth and no longer feel "stuck". Pay attention to what you are thinking at given times to identify patterns and thought processes. Thinking is an important mental process. It helps us to define and organize experiences, plan, learn, reflect, and create. Sometimes our thinking may for unknown reasons become negative and this has a similar impact on our well-being.

The good news is that you can start making changes at any of the points of the triangle and see changes in the other points. Like any other system, all it takes is a shift in one part to invite changes in the other parts.

Add a “but” at the end of a negative thought!Weekly 1 to 1 Coaching Call

We often think that it is the emotions that drive our thoughts. But it is our thoughts that drive our emotions which, in turn, drive our actions, and the pattern repeats.Try adding a harmless “but” to every negative thought you produced. What’s the result, you ask? This way you could transform all negative thoughts into positive ones. You could transform unhappiness and add a positive twist to it! For instance,“I feel like I will never shed this extra weight” could become “I feel like I will never shed this extra weight, but I know there are other people like me who made it happen!” This “but” technique can literally change your thinking and elevate your happiness level dramatically. Time spent alone in your own thoughts can be positive – a rich environment for personal growth and creativity. Yet, it can also be dangerous when we are negatively turned against ourselves. Our thoughts have the power to shape our lives and also create our own happiness.

Take care of your body to take care of your mind

If you want to take care of your mind, you need to start by taking care of your body. There are plenty of good reasons to be physically active like reducing the odds of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and so much more.
